That was funny! You know sometimes it is that way and stays that way for a LONG time. I haven't ever seen an old dog chase his tail seems like after a point the dog realizes it is the same old tail.

When I first started reading this blog I thought it was cute and amusing and then I'd leave. Now I'm coming to believe more and more that monk is a friggin' genius. I mean, who else doing this stuff? We've got to get this guy into the lifehacks section of Alltop.

This is brilliant. Somehow you managed in this to get the whole path to enlightenment correct. But sometimes, you do need to chase your own tail, just to figure it out and move forward.

Hah! I sometimes feel I'm on the circular path, too. The path is well-known, but kinda boring. Here's to breaking out of the circle!

@ Uniquely Blue: Thank you. I’m 42 and a half and still chasing my tail, although I need to take more breaks between sessions.

@ Clay: Thanks, but I just got a lucky shot off. I have some dreadful posts planned for the near future that will require you to recalibrate your expectations. If Alltop knows what’s good for them, they’ll steer clear of this loose cannon.

@ L.S. King: Thank you. I agree, in proper dosages tail chasing is a good thing. Plus you can get a good workout without leaving the yard.

@ Tink *~*~*: Cheers! Death to circles!

Well being 42 and a half makes you 6.071428571428... haha dog years so you are still a pup (although I hear that the changed the dog year calculation recently) ;)

Love the blog! And thanks for the ecs :) Sweet gesture :D

Hi Brent,

Thanks a lot for the link to my article. I have been out of town on business trip, so just catching up.

You have summarized the whole spirituality business nicely in a humorous way.

There are infinite paths and at the same time no paths to the infinite. All spiritual practices are there only to clear up the clutter within our body-mind complex to reveal the en-light-enment that is already there within. Essence of my whole blog is that a teacher/guru can give only the techniques and cannot bestow enlightenment which is already there. It is the individual's responsibility to reveal it for him/herself.

Thanks,
Desika

@Desika: Thank you for the insightful comment, exactly why folks should visit your blog. This is one of my more popular posts, I believe we will see Master and MoMo again.

Your illustration of the insect with beady eyes reminds me of the story of character Gregor Samsa in Kafka's book called, The Metamorphosis. If you haven't read it yet, the protagonist awakens in his bead as a cockroach. He and his family adjust to go about the day as normal (or at least as best they can). Many metaphors worth reflection.

Hi Liara,

Thanks for the recommendation, sounds interesting, I like the idea of his family trying to adjust. I just re-watched the Naked Lunch movie not too long ago, lots of roach / metaphorical stuff going on there too.

The insect in this comic represents “grasshopper” from the old TV series Kung Fu. The main character was given this nickname by his master, in a lesson about awareness.

@Liara: That book sounds interesting. I haven't read that. I will get that one.
@Brent: I remember the Kung Fu series which I used to watch regularly. Good philosophical insights, but bad acting, I thought! :-)
